What's going on...

Last Saturday, we met the Turners in Hendersonville and went to the Apple Festival. Some of you may remember that Kyra is also from Guatemala. We met Kipp and Pam in Atlanta on our way to Guatemala. Kyra is a month older than Makenna. We had an instant connection with all three of them and have stayed in contact since 2004 when we brought the girls home.
Aren't they gorgeous together? We had so much fun. We met at the Cracker Barrel (Makenna's favorite restaurant) for breakfast. Then, we parked and rode the bus to the festival. The girls thought they were big stuff when they got onto the bus. Makenna has been asking to ride a bus for over a year, so it was hilarious to watch her reactions.

We did a little bit of shopping, but it was SO HOT!!!! It was miserable. So, we quickly changed our plans and went to the park. We adults found some shade, while Makenna and Kyra played on the playground. Afterwards, we ate lunch and went for a little shopping at the mall. Our day came to a close too soon. I really wish that we lived closer... being five hours away from each other makes it hard for us to get together often.

Check out their faces! It was just a short time ago that Makenna wouldn't let anyone near her face to paint it. My how things have changed! :)
Yesterday was another soccer game. I just love this pictures. Makenna didn't seem like her usual self... after much thought, we decided that we should probably eat oatmeal instead of cereal on soccer game days. If you are familiar with the tv show, Lazy Town, you know Sporticus. He always says that we should eat healthy and get lots of rest. Gotta love Sporticus! He has helped Makenna, and he's a make-believe character.

Check out the soccer stance.

That's my princess!

It was our day for snacks and drinks... Goldfish and juice all around.

Other updates...

*I'm feeling some better with the IC. I had a bladder instillation on Tuesday, and it made me feel better. This weekend has not been as good, but it could definitely be worse. The hardest thing for me is drinking water with meals. I know I sound like such a wimp, but I love me some sweet tea. I can drink water any other time, but meals are better with sweet tea. My bladder is spasming some tonight, but I am hoping for more relief on Thursday when I have another instillation at the urologist. Praise report.... one of my co-workers came to me on Wednesday and said that she had read my blog and would be happy for give me restroom breaks. That was an answered prayer. THANK YOU Christa!

Makenna news...

*She's said some of the funniest things lately. I need to start blogging them immediately, because I think I will remember them and forget. Here are a few...
Me- I'll race you to the bathroom.
Mak- I'll win. (starts to run)
Me - Oh my goodness. You beat me again.
Mak - Let's race back and forth. You be back, and I'll be forth.
Me - Do you like your teachers this year at school?
Mak - Yes, I love them.
Me - Tell me about them.
Mak - Ms. Joyce is brown like me, and Miss Alyson is peach like you.

Thank you to all of you who are praying for me. Keep the prayers coming!

I am so glad someone is going to give you bathroom breaks. Be glad you aren't at the old school. WHen I was there, I got a death glare for going to the bathroom on my non-break day--so of course I was afraid to do it again. About 2 months later i was in the hospital with a kidney infection!

That's why we are called Survivors! :) We didn't work. We survived. No one understands until you've been there, right?
