My mind has been filled today, and I wanted to share...
1 - I'm thankful to God for my Godly mother. I know she has taken care of me and prayed for me more times than I could ever count. She taught me how to be a devoted wife when I watched her take care of my dad. She taught me how to be strong when she shattered her ankle and had to have surgery 2 times. She taught me how to love my brother when she went to feed her own brother after his surgery. She taught me how to care for others when I watched her care for others. Watching her with Makenna is one of the most special things... I cherish every moment because I know they won't last forever. Thank you Mama!!! I love you soooooooooooooooooo much!
2 - I'm thankful to God for Makenna's birthmother. She could have had an abortion, but instead, she chose life for Makenna. She gave the ultimate sacrifice in order for Makenna to grow up healthy and happy. Through her sacrifice, God allowed my dreams of becoming a mother to come true. I pray for her often and hope to see her one day in Heaven.
3 - I'm thankful for my mother-in-law. She raised Randy to take care of himself. He irons, cooks, cleans, washes clothes, because she made a point to teach him. Marie, thank you for raising a Godly son.
4 - I'm thankful for my grandmothers. Even though they are both in Heaven now, I use them a lot in illustrations in my classroom. Their wisdom comes to my mind so often. I just wish Makenna could have met them. She would have them wrapped around her little finger.
5 - I'm thankful for Makenna, my Guatemalan miracle girl. For many years, I never thought I would be a mother. I thought my arms would never have a child to call mine. I remember seeing her for the first time and thinking my life would never be the same again. God picked the perfect child to complete our family. She makes me laugh every day, and her strong will reminds me so much of myself. I just pray for God to mold it... :).
Thank you God for all of the special women in my life.... you are the author of life!!!
