Stone Mountain Camping Trip - Part #1 Georgia Aquarium

When we decided to go to Stone Mountain Campground, I knew we had to go to the Georgia Aquarium. Everyone at my school and church had told us what a great place it was, and they were definitely telling the truth. I had no idea that it is the largest aquarium in the world and home to whale sharks and beluga whales. Makenna's friend, Mary-Patrick (aka MP), went with us, and they had a blast!!! Enjoying the much sought-after Dippin Dots... This picture reminds me of snorkeling in Jamaica in 2003.
You definitely don't want to mess with these jellies...
Randy, Makenna, and MP were touching rays and young hammerhead sharks.

Two cutie patooties with painted faces!!!

The penguins were SOOOOOOOOO cute!
My favorite... the beluga whales!!!

Our first official picture with my new glasses...

These pictures don't do justice to these huge animals. The whale shark was over 27 feet long, and the manta ray was over 25 feet wide. They were amazing!

About 2 weeks before our trip, Makenna's teacher, Mrs. Trout, had asked the children to pick out an animal to study. Of all of the millions of animals, Makenna picked a hammerhead shark. You should have seen her face when she saw this one at the aquarium. Way cool moment!

This picture somewhat shows the length of the whale shark.

The Georgia Aquarium was a great place to visit!!!
