We made it to Charleston and back today. Randy is in the bed completely exhausted, but we had a good trip. The good news... the EMG shock testing (which Randy said hurt like crazy) showed no signs of permanent nerve damage. Randy's dr. had hoped that he would have the results of the MRI before we left today, so we were a little disappointed when he didn't. He said that he would call. There is a slight possibility that a vertebrae is touching his spinal cord and causing his hands and feet to feel numb. This sounds bad, but it can be fixed. If it's not that, it is probably the sarcoidosis. Prednisone is the typical drug to relieve sarcoidosis symptoms, but it doesn't seem to work with Randy. There is no cure, but God has definitely begun healing Randy's body. His chest is hurting much less than it used to. I'm so thankful for that. It is so hard to see him in pain.
Thanks to all of you who have called, e-mailed, or texted (is that a word?). We appreciate your prayers more than you will ever know. We felt them as we were coming home on I26 in the pouring down rain. :) Thank you especially to DeAnna for watching Makenna! I love you girl!
