Summary of the weekend...

We left on Friday night about 6:00. When we dropped Makenna off at Randy's parents', she cried and wouldn't let me go. Needless to say, I was a basket of nerves for about an hour. We went to California Dreaming (one of my favs), and then headed to GA. Randy's new GPS (aka Darlene) took us to the middle of nowhere before we got there. We did survive after I laughed so hard that I cried! We stayed in a cabin and would highly recommend it. It had a full kitchen, 2 bedrooms, 1 1/2 baths, fireplace, and a hot tub.
We were going to tube the Chattahoochee River on Saturday, but it was SO crowded. We decided to head to Cleveland to see if we could find some breakfast better than the choices on Helen. "Darlene" failed us again. There was no pancake house where she said there was. So, we decided to keep going. By this time, it was lunch. We ate at Zaxby's and then decided to go to the Babyland Hospital where Cabbage Patch Kids are born. We wanted to buy Makenna a doll that looks like her, and we were just going to go in and get it.
Little did we know how awesome the place was! We can't wait to take Makenna back. There are babydolls in incubators, cribs, school, etc. The "nurses" & "doctors" stay in full character. A little girl was getting a doll, and there was a huge tree in the middle. The "doctor" had an ultrasound, an IV, a shot, etc. The funniest thing he said was, "Mrs. Cabbage is dilated to 10 cabbage leaves." It was precious! We came back and did some shopping, but it was so hot that it was almost unbearable.
When we went to dinner on Saturday night, the waitress told us that she heard 2000 people tubed on Saturday. No wonder it was so crowded. We had a wonderful supper and met a friendly (yet drunk) elderly lady. She gave us some good laughs as well.
I learned something over the weekend. I must take care of my marriage to be a better parent. I'd always heard it, but never quite understood it. This won't be the last solo trip we take together!
Honey - if you're reading this, I LOVE YOU!!!!!

I am thrilled that you had such a wonderful time. I hope that Darlene will learn to be a better navigator for the next trip.
