I keep thinking that I will get to post all of the details of my mission trip to Seattle, but the time keeps slipping away. My friend, DeAnna, made an amazing presentation with all of our pictures for our church service last Sunday. She and I are going to try to figure out how to post it here. In the meantime, pray for the people in Seattle. Here is SC, we see churches on every corner. It's not the same there at all.
School update... we made it through our first week of school. This is the best first week I ever remember in 15 years of teaching. (Yes, it's my 15th year. Can you believe it? Seems like I just started.) I've been begging to move back to 5th grade for 3 years. When my principal approached me about moving at the end of last year, I was thrilled. I love it. I'm sure that I will have days when I'm ready to scream, but I know it's where I'm supposed to be.
Makenna is loving her new teacher, Ms. Joyce. She has lots of friends in her class, and she is adjusting beautifully.
Randy is feeling well lately. The Concerta that the dr. at MUSC prescribed is working amazingly. We thank God every time it comes to our mind because He answered our prayers about relieving Randy's pain.
Pray for a couple of my students.... I don't need to name names. There are a few that are in family situations that aren't so great. God knows who they are. :)
I hope each of you has had a wonderful week! Tomorrow is our day of worship, and I will be playing the piano at church. Our pianist's father is in the hospital, and I'm going to fill in for her. I know that I shouldn't, but I still get so nervous when I play. I just have to remind myself that I'm playing for God, not the other people. That's how I get over my case of nerves.
Makenna had her first soccer game today. It was awesome. I will try to post pics some time this week! Of course, she's the cutest player on the team. :) My parents came, and Makenna was hilarious when she had to come and give Papa and Nana a hug when she was waiting for her turn to play.
Hugs to everyone! :)
