It's been a while since I've had time to write a Thursday thirteen, so these are some random things going on in the Massey household.

1 - Makenna had her 4 year check up yesterday. It was hilarious to hear all of the things she was "supposed" to be doing.... know "some" colors, count up to 10, play a few games. Who was I to tell the dr. that she was way beyond anything he described? I'm sure every parent comes in and tells him her child is brilliant. I just sat and nodded. We did talk about the sleep issues. Since it's been going on for a year now, he gave her some meds. SHE SLEPT ALL NIGHT LAST NIGHT!!!!!! :)

2 - She weighed 35 pounds and was 38 3/4 inches tall.

3 - We are leaving for the beach on Saturday.

4 - We stay at Ocean Lakes. Usually, Randy's parents take their camper, we rent a house, and Randy's sister's family rents a house. This year, there were no camping spots available. So, we went in with Randy's parents to get a bigger house. Makenna is so excited. We are counting the days.

5 - Makenna has learned to swim underwater with her goggles on. She still likes to have some type of flotation, but she can hold her breath across the shallow end of the pool. I'm goRnaying to check into swimming lessons when we get back from the beach.

6 - Randy's new meds seem to be helping him with his fatigue. He has been doing more things around the house, and he definitely seems to have more energy. This is a definite praise report.

7 - My hydrangea bushes are beautiful. I planted three in my backyard two falls ago. Last year, the frost ruined them, but this year, they are beautiful. I have to water them every day, but you should see the beautiful huge blue blooms. For those of you who don't know me as well, I usually don't take care of plants very well. This is rare!

8 - I got graduation invitations from two of my former students. One was salutatorian of her class. She is going to Clemson pre-dentistry. The other was 5th in his class, and he is going to Clemson pre-pharmacy. It doesn't get any better than that! I'm so proud!

9 - I miss reading.... I want to read some Karen Kingsbury books this summer. I need to go to Barnes and Noble or Lifeway!

10 - Makenna and I are going to start working on writing her ABCs when we get back from the beach. I'm a little intimidated because she is a lefty, and I don't want to teach her incorrectly. I also don't want her to have the "lean" that many left-handed people have.

11- We got our hair cut this week. I'm trying to let my bangs grow out. I've never done this, so we'll see how long I can take it. I got my hair highlighted, and Makenna was convinced that she was getting her colored pink. I said, "Not as long as you live in my house!" :)

12 - I'm getting a pedicure on Friday! Randy got me a gift certificate for Mother's Day, and I'm so excited to use it. I can't wait!

13 - The beach is calling our names!!!!! We will update with pics when we get home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
