This time of year is CRAZY!!! Did I mention this time of year is CRAZY??? :) Just checking because this time of year is CRAZY!!
I love being a teacher. Most days, I really look forward to my day at school. Don't get me wrong... I detest getting up early every day, but I still love my job. However, I do NOT love this time of year. Standardized testing is over, lockers are being cleaned out, everything in my classroom has to be labeled, permanent records have to be completed, end of year checklists have to be signed (Do you know how hard it is to track down people who hate being tracked down to get signatures?), no teacher workday at the end (We worked last Thursday until 6:30 pm, and we will work tomorrow until 6:30 pm to make up for it.) of the year to get all of this completed.... it is stressful.
To top it off, I spent most of my weekend in bed with a sinus infection. I went to Doctors' Care yesterday because I knew I couldn't be out today. I was patient #17 when I walked in, and after 2 1/2 hours, I got my much needed antibiotic prescription. I just pray that it works!
My "baby" graduates K5 this Wednesday, and she has informed me that she is ready for first grade. (Don't know if I am ready for her to go.) I can't believe how much she has learned this year. She is reading anything and everything she can get her hands of, and she loves writing. She even asked me to buy her a journal at Christian Supply and is using it quite frequently. She is definitely taking after me with the ELA and not her Daddy with the math. When she has to do math, it is like pulling teeth.
We are going camping this weekend with Randy's family, and hopefully, my parents will be able to come for a little while on Saturday. My mom still isn't able to put any weight on her left ankle at all. It's been 8 weeks since she broke her ankle, and she's had 2 surgeries. She goes back on Friday, so we're praying the dr. will give her the go ahead to at least visit us in a wheel chair if she has to. Randy wants to pack everything on Thursday night in the camper. (Has he even noticed that this is the last week of school?) He looked at me like I had 2 horns growing out of my head when I told him it would at least be Thursday before I could pack. :)
So... I end this post saying... I love teaching. I love my students. AND I LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVVVVVVVVVEEEEEEEEEEEE SUMMER!!!!!!!!!
